How a PDR pricing matrix works

A PDR matrix prices each panel once against a dent-count band (1–5, 6–15, 16–30, 31–50, 51–75 and up) crossed with dent size (dime, nickel, quarter, half dollar). A fender with 20 small dents has one price, far less than twenty times the price of a single dent, and panels cap out past a certain count.

How to use it

1. Choose your make and model so the diagram shows the right panels (a pickup, coupe or SUV each have different ones)
2. Tap a panel, pick the dent size, and tap once per dent
3. Count any dents bigger than a half dollar separately, because they carry their own charge
4. Get a typical repair range, priced on our server against HailMate's standard matrix

Is it a real quote?

No. It's a preliminary range. The repair shop sets the final price after seeing the panels in person, and an insurer writes its own figure. Amounts are in US dollars because the matrix behind the tool is a US rate card; panel names follow your region (Hood / Bonnet, Trunk / Boot).
